Therapy works with you to get you better
Residents of Signature Healthcare of Elizabethton are participating in a company-wide summer road trip. They will be virtually visiting eight National Parks in the U.S. They packed their bags, made their license plates and enjoyed visiting the Grand Canyon National Park.
They will be visiting a park for the next seven weeks. The residents are really excited to virtually visit these locations!
Today Bitsy is welcoming one of our new residents, David Atwood. Mr. Atwood came to us after a very long and extended hospitalization for some much needed physical therapy. He is pictured here with Bitsy and one of our Occupational Therapists, Victoria Kimbrel. Mr. Atwood has begun his rehab journey and his goal of returning home is just right around the corner.
Today Bitsy is welcoming our new Physical Therapy students, Lindsay Lawson and Morgan Hayes, and a future Occupational Therapy student, Vu Pham. Our facility encourages therapy students to do a clinical rotation with our Therapy Department. Lindsay and Morgan are spending the next 8 weeks with us. They are currently students at South College in Knoxville, TN. Vu will be shadowing our Occupational Therapists for at least 20 hours over the next few weeks to see if this is the path he wants to take as he furthers his education.
Today Bitsy is getting her belly rubbed by our Nurse Practitioner, Amy Clark, from Team Health and Jonathan Lyons, a Nurse Practitioner Student. Our facility is so blessed to have Amy as part of our team.
Our new dog, Bitsy, has made quite an impression on our residents. Bitsy is a very loving and patient dog and just absolutely loves to be loved on. Pictured here is one of our residents, Lillian Davenport, with Bitsy. It’s the little “Bitsy” things in life that make it special.
